Lorilyn's 3rd Birthday/Super Bowl Bonanza

WOW so this is VERY late in getting posted. I have many excuses I could use, but really it was just me being lazy about it. I knew I couldn't give up though and that all these pictures needed to be blogged (my family scrapbook) because not only was it an amazing weekend, but Scott brought his camera so there was LOTS of wonderful pictures being taken. For Lorilyn's 3rd birthday (which happened to be the same day as the super bowl this year) both Nana and Papa and Unkie and Amy drove the many hours to come to our house and party with us:-) As always when Ryan's whole family gets together the weekend was full of LOTS of yummy food, fun and laughter. Unfortunately LJ got sick so she wasn't her normal spunky self, but we managed to have a blast anyway:-) Her birthday was actually on Sunday but since that was super bowl also we had the birthday party Saturday and the Super Bowl Party Sunday. It was a wonderful weekend that definitely went by way too fast! I apologize for the number of pictures but there were just so many good ones!

Everyone arrived Friday night...LJ was super excited to see everyone! Nana (and Papa but we didn't get a picture of them together that night)...

Someone was excited to see the balloons and decorations going up!

Mommy was the one taking most of the pictures and hence wasn't paying as much attention to the little boy as he wished.

This is what our kitchen always seems to end up looking like as the day wears on with all the cooking and eating!

Happy 30th Birthday Hubby!

So Ryan decided that instead of one big 30th birthday party, he wanted to stretch this birthday out for a few weeks. So we began on his birthday eve by going out to Bubs Burgers with some of our awesome friends in the ward, Scott and Paige. Soon after moving in we found that Scott and Ryan we born on the same day, same year, about 3 hours apart. Then they found out that Scott has a younger brother named Ryan and Ryan has a younger brother named Scott. An immediate bromance began, so we decided what better way to spend the Birthday Eve's then out together eating delicious burgers. The boys decided the best way to ring in their 30's was to start by doing the burger challenge and try to take down "The Big Ugly" burger. It is 22oz of meat which after cooking is a pound burger. It was touch and go for a while but they persevered and both finished! Us ladies were oh so proud:-)

Before the burgers arrived, kind of innocent of what was really in store...

Kind of a blurry pic but yes, that whole plate is burger...the large bun only covered about 2/3 of the meat...Still kind of innocent of the future, but very optimistic.

I should have got a pic of their faces about half way through when they both hit a wall and weren't sure if they would make it. However it wasn't long that the adrenaline kicked in and they downed the second half!

The last bite!!

Feelin a little shaky, but they did it!!!!

At this place if you finish it you get your picture taken and put up on the wall. Way to go boys! What a way to start the next 30 years of your life!:-) Good thing Ryan is training for a half marathon and will probably run it all off this afternoon:-)

So this was just the beginning of celebrating. Grandma and Grandpa Bird are coming in town next week so me and the hubs can have a date night for celebration, then the next week we are heading to Michigan to celebrate with Nana and Papa...Soak it up lovey! Love you and am glad I get to spend your next 30 years and more together with you!
